The space in between ....

Posted by on

I was reminded this week of something that I recently spoke on. As cliche as it may sound the topic was on Seasons and my main speaking points on Expect, Adapt and Grow. But during this past week and even today, one thing that I feel like I might have missed was this, even though there are seasons, highs and lows in our life .. We can NEVER discount the "space in between". I know one thing I tend to do focus on and maybe you do to are the highs and lows of life but often I forget the in between period or the transitional period.

What does that mean for me and maybe for you? If we are currently sitting at a good point in life, lets not forget the process that it took to get there. We can often look back and see that it took a lot of sweat and tears, it took a lot of not giving up and it took a refinement process, it took change. So yes we can expect change to come in life, yes we can even expect adversity. We must adapt often times ourselves or the way that we view things and as always we must grow. It sounds easy right? Expect, Adapt and Grow.

Refinement is defined as this, "to remove impurities or unwanted elements from, typically as part of a process." Although this can be applied to both adapting and growing I just want to shine light on the space in between .. The space where it may feel like you are about to break, the space where you feel like you want to give up, that space that it is hard to push forward. Remember diamonds are only made by applying extreme heat and pressure and it is in that in-between part of the process that real change is happening.

My encouragement is this, DON'T GIVE UP! If you feel like you are about to break, you won't. If you feel like you can't go any further, you can. If you have experienced any amount of pain and suffering and are sitting in a new, better season, you too can encourage someone else. One thing that is important to remember is that we all have a different reach. We all associate with a different group of people day in and day out that we could reach out to and encourage. Even if it isn't a verbal encouragement it could be a model of the way you live and shine light. Never underestimate the power of a kind gesture or even something as simple as a smile. Some people are currently sitting in that space between where as some have just came across to the other side and some are just entering in.

Blessings,

Jonathan
